30 Days of Gamemastering: Part Twenty-Eight
This is part twenty-eight of the continuing series of posts for the “30 Days of Gamemastering Challenge” from Triple Crit.
Transcending the material plane: how do you GM online?
Short answer: I don’t.
This isn’t due so much to reluctance on my part as to mostly just a lack of need. My gaming group meets in person and has for a number of years. We prefer the in-person experience and, frankly, not all of us are as tech savvy as others. The closest I’ve gotten is posting my campaigns on Obsidian Portal, and even then, getting my players to participate in the online component has been a challenge. As a result, I don’t have a good working knowledge of all the online helps available to GMs. This is something I’ve just gotten my toes wet with and I find it a little daunting. Perhaps some day we’ll play more online, but for now it’s 95% analog for us.
